The 42-year-old Charles County business executive and Marine major has attracted support from Tea Party Republicans, but has had a hard time raising money. Lollar ran for the U.S. House against Democratic Rep. Steny Hoyer in 2010 and was soundly beaten. An African-American, Lollar has vowed to meld the civil rights message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with conservative economics. His running mate: author Kenneth R. Timmerman, 60.
