THE NEXT MAN UP

Veteran pitcher Jair Jurrjens seemed like he was on the verge of getting a call-up, but he seems to struggle whenever the chance to come to join the major league rotation seems likely. The next starter called in may be Steve Johnson, who was sent back to Norfolk after a difficult first major league start. The coaching staff hasn't forgotten that he came up big late last season and certainly will give him more than one chance to work his way back into the major league rotation. Of course, the drumbeat for exciting prospect Kevin Gausman is going to increase if the Orioles don't start getting some quality starts from the back-end guys.
