Bullpen

The combined 2.35 ERA would indicate it was a pretty good week for the Orioles bullpen, though closer Jim Johnson let a game get away and Darren O'Day looked a little more human than usual. The biggest performance of the week came from a very unexpected source, when rookie Kevin Gausman, pictured, took over Friday night's game and shut out the Yankees for 4 1/3 innings while the Orioles battled back to defeat Sabathia. The coaching staff is still trying to settle down Pedro Strop, but Tommy Hunter, Troy Patton and Brian Matusz had scoreless weeks.
