Honorable mention for this week's Reader SunShot series "Unusual Things" goes to Rob Lynch for his picture of a hood ornament known as the "Flying Goddess" located on the hood of a 1948 Cadillac hearse. The picture was taken with a Nikon D5000 camera. Here is a critique by Baltimore Sun director of photography Robert Hamilton. "I like several things that the photographer did in taking this picture. First he got down eye level to the hood ornament, which draws the viewers eyes to the face. Secondly he used a limited field of focus, which also makes the face stand out. Also, the monotone nature of the image also enhances the feel of the image."
