1 dozen glazed, jelly filled, frosted or creme-filled donuts
1 dozen Peeps
cherry pie filling
1 dozen foil cupcake cups
Glaze: 1/4 cup confectioner's sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoon milk, stirred together
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cover cookie sheets with foil for easy cleanup. Flatten the foil cupcake liners and place one donut on each foil circle on cookie sheet. Using kitchen shears snip top 1/3 of Peep off and reserve heads. Stuff base of Peep into the hole of the donut or into an x-shaped cut in the center of filled donuts. Put a spoonful of the pie filling in the center of some of the stuffed donuts. Place in the oven and bake for 7 minutes.
Immediately stick the heads of the Peeps onto the softened centers.
Brush the glaze around the top edges and sprinkle with the colored sprinkles.
For a real treat, serve while warm. They can also be enjoyed at room temperature or microwaved briefly, (watch out for exploding Peeps!)
