Best Picture nominee: 'Django Unchained'
Quentin Tarantino remains a powerful filmmaker, and people who love his work really love his work. But his movies are too in-your-face for the majority of Academy voters, and the film's high dead-body count -- at a time when debates about gun violence are heating up all over the country -- might prevent even Tarantino partisans from voting for it. "Django" is Tarantino's best film since "Kill Bill," but it won't get much in the way of Oscar love.
