Mary Nock

Mary Nock hailed from <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100600000000" title="Maryland" href="/topic/us/maryland-PLGEO100100600000000.topic">Maryland</a>'s Eastern Shore and was the first elected woman from <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100620000000" title="Wicomico County" href="/topic/us/maryland/wicomico-county-PLGEO100100620000000.topic">Wicomico County</a> to serve in the State Legislature. She was also the second woman to be elected to the Maryland Senate and its first female President Pro-Tem. She was the only woman in the Maryland State Senate from 1956-1961. She was inducted into the Maryland Women's Hall of Fame in 1995.
