His team won the World Series in 2009, his second year with the club. They've been competitive since but have not won another American League pennant and that's the measuring stick for Yankee managers. With another AL East title, he should have security.<br>

<b>Orioles: </b> On Friday, Buck Showalter's current team knocked his most recent former club, the Rangers, out of the playoffs. Now the Orioles take aim at Showalter's first big league team, the Yankees. Showalter hates making the story about himself, or publicly harboring any extra incentive, but he did offer this nugget Friday night: "I'm all for irony." Showalter has had a tremendous season at the helm of the Orioles, but he may lose the AL Manager of the Year Award to Oakland's Bob Melvin.<br>
