One of Baltimore's most eerily beautiful traditions is the annual Halloween Lantern Parade, with scores of illuminated lanterns made from recycled containers winding their way through Patterson Park. But those lanterns don't show up by themselves.
Workshops, wherein people from all over the city gather to create them under the auspices of Highlandtown's Creative Alliance, are scheduled for:
• Oct. 12 at Patterson Park Public Charter School, 27 N. Linwood Avenue (2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.)
• Oct. 13 and Oct. 20 at the Creative Alliance, 3134 Eastern Ave. (10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.)
• Oct. 26 at the Patterson Park Pulaski Monument, Eastern and Linwood avenues (3:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.)
