'Pit Stop'

The only narrative feature among the Maryland Film Festival's gay-themed offerings, "Pit Stop" follows two men in a small Texas town. At the movie's start, both characters are still living with their exes (awkward!), recovering from their break-ups while their former partners do the same. With a rural locale recalling "Brokeback Mountain" and a quietness sure to elicit comparisons to "Weekend," this movie seems made for audiences who like their cinematic romances on the melancholy side. Screenings: May 10, 8:30 p.m., Charles Theatre 5 and May 12, 5:30 p.m., Charles Theatre 2
