Dropping oysters

Oysters are dropped from the Robert Lee oyster planting vessel onto an oyster bed below that was constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers. Federal and state agencies including NOAA and Maryland DNR are creating a habitat in Harris Creek on the Eastern Shore to restore the oyster population. The Army Corps of Engineers constructed the beds of stone and shell fragments.The Oyster Recovery Partnership is depositing hatched oyster spat in the creek.
