One of Detroit's longest-running crime sagas is the mysterious 1975 disappearance of longtime Teamster's boss Jimmy Hoffa. Just last month, police in nearby Roseville tore up a home's driveway looking for him. No trace has ever been found.
Advantage: We'll call this one a toss-up; both, in their own ways, are pretty strange crimes. But we will note that Baltimore was recently rated the 8th most dangerous city in the U.S., according to statistics compiled by the FBI, while Detroit placed 5th. Crime rates are too high in both cities, but we're just sayin'...
