Each April, students at Maryland Institute College of Art have showcased their designs during a two-week period that included two major fashion shows, including everything from ready-to-wear to avant-garde. This year is no exception. Milquetoast: An Experimental Fashion Event will allow artists and designers from the Fiber Department's Multi Media Event class to showcase innovative fashion and costume design through fashion, art and live performances and video. "Transcend" is a runway show that will explore the outward manifestation of the unconscious mind, according to the show's promotional material. Attend Transcend at 9 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Saturday at Brown Center in Falvey Hall, 1301 W. Mount Royal Ave. Tickets are $15 for students and $20 for the general public. Tickets are available at the MICA bookstore, 1200 W. Mount Royal Ave. and store.mica.edu; a limited number of tickets will be sold at the door.
