Collared: Simon and Fluffy

Bel-Air resident Debbie Verbillis' dogs Simon and Fluffy love people.
Fluffy visits nursing homes, assisted living facilities, substance-abuse treatment homes and hospitals as a Pets on Wheels dog. She brings a smile to patients recovering from physical illness.
Simon spends his time trying to satisfy his appetite by chewing on shoes and paper.

The pair of pups are opposites. Fluffy acts more like a cat. "She perches on the backs of chairs, jumps onto the kitchen counter and chases birds and squirrels," said Verbillis. "But unlike a cat, she doesn¿t shed a hair."

Verbillis rescued Fluffy from the Harford County Humane Society four years ago. Fluffy was severely malnourished but Verbillis nursed her to health. "She was very sick," said Verbillis. "But she spoke to me with a soul a thousand years old."

After rescuing Fluffy, Verbillis decided to bring 1-year-old Simon into the household. Verbillis thought he would be just like Fluffy, but he came with his own loving personality. "I'm not sure if he will ever be therapy dog material," said Verbillis. "But he can be the biggest lover of all."
Simon loves to chase Fluffy and chew on her ears and legs. If Simon had a motto it would be: "The pesky little brother ... that's me!"
