The <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLCUL000226" title="University of Maryland Medical Center" href="/topic/health/healthcare/university-of-maryland-medical-center-PLCUL000226.topic">University of Maryland Medical Center</a> will begin using the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORCRP009252" title="Luminex Corporation" href="/topic/business/luminex-corporation-ORCRP009252.topic">Luminex</a> Respiratory Viral Panel to screen babies very rapidly for 10 infectious diseases by analyzing a nasal swab sample. Henry and Brenda Belsky, Pikesville, have donated money to the hospital through the R Baby Foundation. Their granddaughter, Rebecca, was born prematurely and died of a viral infection.
