In helping the Retrievers to two wins last week, Mason allowed an average of only 4.31 goals per game and had a .625 save percentage. She made 10 saves in a 7-6 overtime win over America East rival Boston University, including eight in the first half to keep the Retrievers close enough to come back from a 5-1 deficit early in the second half. She also had five saves in a 16-3 rout of Wagner. Mason, who has played every minute of UMBC's 7-3 season, had an 8.03 goals-against average — 14th-best in Division I — and a .447 save percentage at the end of last week.
