State workers

State employees would get a 2 percent cost-of-living raise, effective Jan. 1. They would also get five paid days off as compensation for past furloughs. Workers will pay 5 percent more for health insurance under changes approved last year. The state would eliminate 149 positions, mostly by closing two assisted living facilities.
