Nicole Kirby, 45, often goes right from work as the public relations director for Dr. Jamal Bryant, to an evening event. So, the Bowie resident often dresses in something that will transition well from day to night in a style she calls "business classic." She shows how she worked it at the Wear It Out Wednesday fashion/arts event in the rooftop garden at Harbor Court Hotel. Kirby started with a charcoal denim cap-sleeve Calvin Klein sheath from Bloomingdale's to which she added some oomph with a light brown Cynthia Steffe linen jacket from Nordstrom with pleated ruffle details, and leopard-print Sam Edelman peep-toe pumps with spike-covered heels -- also from Bloomingdale's. She picked up her amber, pumpkin, olive and gold crystal statement necklace at an arts show. Her khaki leather handbag from Bloomingdale's with black and white inset comes from one of her favorite shoe and handbag designers -- L.A.M.B. She mixed a Betsey Johnson bangle with some she found at Lord & Taylor. She purchased her Michael Kors watch at Nordstrom. In addition to loving handbags and shoes, Kirby calls herself "a jacket girl." "If I see a well-made jacket, I'm probably getting it. It's not often you see me without one."
