Laura Farrell-Smith, 30, proves that this decorative painter also knows how to decorate herself. The Bowie resident does all the faux painting in the Urban Chic stores and had come to the American Visionary Art Museum for the store's annual "Once Upon A Runway" fundraising event for the museum. The owner of LMI Studios showed her love of color with a turquoise, mustard and cream paisley H&M dress, set off by taupe leather BCBG peep-toe platform pumps from Macy's. Farrell-Smith added sparkle and shine with a gold Aldo wristlet, crystal button earrings from Ann Taylor Loft and a gold and crystal big ring from Target. She says she decided to go a little more "girly" for the fashion show and party than her usual "more edgy" style. "I sing in a band, also," she said. "So, I'm often in skinny jeans, with [something] with zippers or studs."
