Collared: Elvis

Elvis almost left the building three years ago when unknown circumstances landed the husky mix in a kill shelter in Tennessee. Luckily, the Baltimore County Humane Society bailed him out, and he was adopted by Laura Gamble of Baltimore. Elvis recently became a certified therapy dog with Pets on Wheels and now cuddles up to all sorts of adoring fans in hospitals, retirement homes and libraries. Gamble says Elvis is clear about his likes and dislikes. On the "yes, please" list are doggie day care, dog parks, car rides, Starbucks cups, and lots and lots of digging. His "no, thank you" list includes baths and open refrigerators. Laura and Elvis are very happy together. From "Jailhouse Rock" to "Love Me Tender," Elvis has lived up to his name. -- Kim Fernandez, For The Baltimore Sun Christopher T. Assaf, Baltimore Sun
