Take in a show geared just for children thanks to the Pumpkin Theatre, whose season kicks off with "Charlotte's Web," the E.B. White classic about a pig, his girl and their special spider friend. Parents probably know the spider gets it in the end. But White wanted children to know about the cycle of life, so consider this a chance to have a conversation you'd rather avoid. Or just to explain that sometimes we feel sad.
Tickets cost $15 or $13 in advance, and shows are at St. Timothys School for Girls, 8400 Greenspring Ave. in Stevenson. "Charlotte's Web" runs Sept. 17, 18, 24 and 25. The season continues with "Rapunzel" and "Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good Very Bad, Day."
