Designated hitters

If you take away his three-homer performance against the Blue Jays on Friday night, Chris Davis (pictured) was 2-for-11 in the DH role last week, but it's hard to ignore a game that made him one of only three players in the modern era (including Babe Ruth) to have a three-homer performance and a pitching win in the same season. Lew Ford started one game at DH and went 1-for-4, giving the position an overall average of .316 for the week. Nothing wrong with that. Grade: B+
