Sept. 23: Tom Brady, New England Patriots

The measureables: 6-4, 225 pounds, 13th season. The numbers: 401 of 611 completions (65.6 percent), 5,235 yards, 39 TDs, 12 INTs, 105.6 rating in 2011. Against the Ravens: (5-1), 126 of 222 completions (56.8 percent), 1,372 yards, 6 TDs, 8 INTs, 69.1 rating. The challenge: This is the meeting Ravens fans have been eagerly anticipating -- a rematch of last year’s AFC championship game that Brady & Co. won 23-20. Brady completed 61.1 percent of his throws for 239 yards, but did not pass for a touchdown and was intercepted twice. Still, the seven-time Pro Bowler does have three Super Bowl championships , and New England is 5-1 in six contests against the Ravens when Brady is the starter. The addition of wide receiver Brandon Lloyd to an arsenal that already included Wes Welker and tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez will make Brady even more dangerous. The quote: “You don’t want to show him the same thing and give him a hint of what’s going on because he does a great job of knowing what’s coming. So we have to try and switch it up and give him something else as much as possible. With Tom, you have to give him something on every play, not just one play out of the series. You have to do it every time and be consistent with it.” -- Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb who has registered two interceptions and two passes defensed in two meetings against Brady.
