Catholics stand by a gate in the walled community of Nueva Jerusalem, in Turicato, Michoacan State, Mexico as teachers of the National Education Workers Union (SNTE in Spanish) march in demand of the right for secular education at this religious community. A quarter of the population of this ultra-Catholic community of 4000 has been confronting the majority in their demand to access Mexico's secular education. On July, members of the sect that dominates the community, destroyed the two state schools and on August 27 prevented children attending these schools to begin their academic year.
