Designated hitters

It was a pretty good week for a slot in the batting order that has not been consistently productive over the first half of the season. Orioles DHs combined to bat .296 with two home runs and three RBIs. Danny Valencia, who is living up to his reputation for hitting well against left-handers, was 5-for-12 with a home run in three starts. Chris Dickerson (pictured) had a couple of hits in 11 at-bats. And Matt Wieters hit a two-run homer to create some drama as the DH on Saturday.
