Escobar was part of a game of musical shortstops this offseason. After being traded from Toronto to Miami in the November blockbuster, the Marlins shipped him and his $5 million salary to Tampa Bay for a minor league infielder. The 30-year-old Cuban batted just .253 last year (down from .290 the year before) with 9 HRs and 51 RBIs.
