You'd think that National Turkeys' Lovers' Month would be in November. But that would be so obvious. The whole point of having National Turkey Lovers' Month in June is to promote turkey as a year-round delicious option. The origins of the holiday appear to be a proclamation signed in 2006 by Kansas governor Dave Heineman declaring June "Turkey Lovers' Month." It is unclear whether Heineman intended to Turkey Lovers' Month to be national celebration -- can governors do that? -- but I guess we can ask him. He's still the governor of Kansas.
