The lowdown: For those who feel like doing winter sports in the non-winter months, this is the place to go.
See: Snowflex, the technology that makes a year-round ski park possible, is a synthetic material designed to feel like snow.
Do: Take your pick of skiing, snowboarding or snow tubing.
Eat: The park's lodge has a café, but other options in Lynchburg include Dish, a tapas restaurant.
Drink: Bull Branch, a dimly lit, elegant-but-casual bistro and lounge recommended by The Washington Post, "offers a comfy setting for cocktails ¿ a moderately priced wine list and [a] seasonal drink menu," according to its website.
Cheap: Lynchburg offers a First Friday event, during which the Riverviews Art Space allows a glimpse into their galleries, which feature the work of artists who also live and have studios in the building. Other galleries participate, too.
