In baseball, a statistic exists that essentially measures a player's total contributions to his team. The statistic WAR (wins above replacement) takes into consideration baserunning, batting, fielding and pitching. Naturally, aces litter the list of the league's top WAR statistics, with pitchers like the Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw and Boston's Clay Buchholz among the leaders. However, nestled comfortably in the top five is a 20-year-old standout, in Orioles third baseman Manny Machado. Machado has not only hit everything in sight thus far this season, but has manned the hot corner with the prowess of a 10-year veteran. Catch a game at Camden this summer and you're sure to hear the Yards erupt in a chant of "MANNY, MANNY, MANNY."
