Open Studio Hartford, the city's annual monumental artist showcase, has extended its early-bird registration deadline. Early discounts apply through the end of August.
Open Studio is celebrating its 25th anniversary this November and is dedicating the event to longtime Kingswood Oxford art teacher Patricia Rosoff, who was killed in a car accident in West Hartford in March.
Artists of all media and levels are welcome: painters, potters, jewelers, sculptors, weavers, collagists, photographers, fiber artists, digital artists, mixed-media artists. There are also opportunities for dancers, musicians, composers, bands, film makers, poets and other performance artists.
Artists can participate by opening their own Hartford area studio, gallery or art-related business or by joining a group location. These locations include ArtSpace, Arbor Arts Center, Colt Gateway, Connecticut Historical Society and Union Station.
To register, visit www.artistsinrealtime.org or call 860-560-1100 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Businesses and supporters can sponsor an artist for amounts starting at $75.
Events include a kick-off party Nov. 6, a group show Nov. 6 to 30, a performance art weekend Nov. 9 and 10 and Open Studio Weekend Nov. 15 and 16.
