The Hill-Stead Musem in Farmington and the Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden in Bethlehem are historic houses hosting two of the most anticipated literary events of the summer. Another event that Connecticut hasn’t seen in a quarter-century — a book tour by John Grisham — is creating excitement. Author events in South Windsor and at a restaurant at the Mohegan Sun round out this summer’s offerings for book lovers.

Sunken Garden Poetry Festival: The 25th annual Sunken Garden Poetry Festival at Hill-Stead Musem, 35 Mountain Road in Farmington, will feature Billy Collins on June 21, Jamaal May and Tarfia Faizullah on July 9, Cornelius Eady on July 19, Mark Doty and Eileen Myles on Aug. 6 and Ocean Vuong on Aug. 16. hillstead.org.

John Grisham: The first book tour in 25 years by John Grisham will come to R.J. Julia Booksellers, 768 Boston Post Road in Madison, on Wednesday. “Camino Island,” Grisham’s 30th novel, tells the story of a theft from the Princeton University library and a Florida book dealer who sells stolen goods. The reading is sold out but book-signing tickets are still available. A book-signing ticket is $35 and includes one copy of “Camino Island.” Grisham will sign no more than two copies of “Camino Island” per person. No back titles will be signed. Signing time is 1 to 5 p.m. rjjulia.com.

Lilac Girls: The Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden, 9 Main St. North in Bethlehem, will devote June 10 to the home’s former resident, Caroline Ferriday, the inspiration for Martha Hall Kelly’s novel “Lilac Girls,” which is based on Ferriday and the Holocaust survivors she championed. Hall Kelly will sign books, give a talk and participate in a panel discussion. The event from 1 to 3 p.m. has sold out, so a second session, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., has been added. Reservations are required and can be made at ctlandmarks.org.

Author Events: Book Club Bookstore & More, 869 Sullivan Ave. in South Windsor, has a series of author events planned. On June 10 at noon, Felix Giordano will discuss “The Killing Zone.” On June 17 at noon, Melissa Volker will discuss “a life undone.” On June 24 at 11 a.m., Emily Arsenault will discuss “The Leaf Reader.” On July 21 at 5:30 p.m., Claire Lobdell will discuss “South Windsor.” On July 29 at 1 p.m., Benjamin Thomas will discuss “Jack Be Quick.” facebook.com/pg/BookClubCT/events/

Delicious Discussion: The “Delicious Discussion” series at Michael Jordan’s Steak House at Mohegan Sun, 1 Mohegan Sun Blvd. in Uncasville, will host Leah DeCesare, author of “Forks, Knives and Spoons,” on June 27, and Allegra Goodman, author of “The Chalk Artist,” on July 25, both from noon to 1:30 p.m. Admission is $40 and includes an author talk, a copy of the book, a signing and lunch. The events are co-presented by Otis Library in Norwich, Bank Square Books in Mystic and Michael Jordan’s. Tickets: kmcdonald@otis.lioninc.org.
