When the Irish dance sensation “Riverdance” first came to these shores 20 years ago, it played the vast concert stage at the Oakdale in Wallingford. It took several years of touring before the show was revised slightly to fit into theater halls such as The Bushnell and the (much smaller) Shubert — both of which will be hosting the Riverdance 20th Anniversary Tour.
The Bushnell’s first up, with the latest troupe of step-dancers reeling and whirling into Hartford Friday to Sunday, May 6 to 8, for five performances: Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m. (The Shubert doesn’t get the tour until next March.)
