“Next to Normal,” the acclaimed pop/rock musical about a middle-aged woman’s bipolar disorder by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (who went on to write “If/Then”), has begun a three-weekend run at the Little Theatre of Manchester.

The show, directed here by Joe Keach-Longo, won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, ran for two years on Broadway. Its national tour visited Hartford in March of 2011. Despite its unusual themes and presentational style, “Next to Normal” now gets staged regularly at college and community theaters.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m., through April 26 at Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road, Manchester. $19-$29. Information: 860-647-9824 and cheneyhall.org
