Louis Prima is widely considered to be one of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century. If the tribute show “The Wildest! — Hip, Cool and Swingin!, The Musical Sounds of Louis Prima & Keely Smith” can conjure up even a smidgen of the magic of this great jazz trumpeter and his delightfully deadpan vocalist, it’ll be wild, hip, cool and swingin’ indeed.

Prima (who wrote the Benny Goodman standard “Sing, Sing, Sing,” played Cousin Louie in Disney’s “The Jungle Book” and was considered “the King of the Vegas lounges”) and Smith (who’s still kickin’ at 86) are already the subject of a different musical revue, “Louis and Keely ‘Live’ at the Sahara,” directed by Taylor Hackford and opening this month in Chicago.

“The Wildest!,” which runs Feb. 12 through March 8 — at Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, was conceived and written by Randy Johnson and Thomas Porras along with Prima’s and Smith’s daughters Luanne and Toni. Tickets: $38-$52.50. Information: 203-757-4676, sevenangelstheatre.org.
