Lewis Black’s back at the Oakdale with his latest dose of fed-up philosophizing, “The Emperor’s New Clothes: The Naked Truth Tour.”
Black still rants occasionally on “The Daily Show,” despite the recent changes in host there, and added hordes of children to his fan base last year by voicing “Anger” in the animated hit “Inside Out.”
His live appearances can take on a different character than his apoplectic TV outbursts: more reflective, more introspective, you could even say calmer.
The smart, articulate, effortlessly cranky Black (who attended the Yale School of Drama and has a whole other career as a widely produced playwright) performs 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre, 95 South Turnpike Road, Wallingford.
