“Man of La Mancha” has noble Connecticut roots. The musical, based on Dale Wasserman’s adaptation of Cervantes’ “Don Quixote,” with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, premiered at the Goodspeed Opera House in 1965. The “Impossible Dream”-filled show gets an open-air production from Saturday to Aug. 16 at The Gary The Olivia Theater (249 Flanders Road, Bethlehem), on the grounds of the Abbey of Regina Laudis. Performances are Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25, or $30 for this Saturday’s opening night performance, which includes a wine and cheese reception.
