Two nights later, at 8 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Mohegan Sun Casino's arena theater in Uncasville (, you can see erstwhile King of Queens Kevin James (who has a second "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" movie coming out this year) flex his stand-up muscles.

On the local level, there are two reliable regular comedy fixes at the laugh-friendly Playhouse on Park (244 Park Rd., West Hartford; Sept. 12 is Improv Night with the sketch troupe Franklin's Peaches and special guests ($10). On Sept. 13, it's a more varied Comedy Night with ventriloquist Pete Michaels and stand-ups Mike Prior and Matt Jedynak ($15). Both Playhouse on Park shows are at 8 p.m. and let you BYOB.
