“Defending the Caveman” is an established small-theater standard. The show, about the comical differences between men and women (especially heterosexual married ones) had regional success in San Francisco, Dallas, Washington D.C. and elsewhere before becoming the longest-running solo show in Broadway history.

It still tours the country constantly, and has visited Connecticut numerous times. The show’s creator and original star, Rob Becker, passed the prehistoric man-cave torch to other performers long ago. Vince Valentine (pictured) is the caveman who’ll be pontificating on the age-old battle between the sexes at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Warner Theatre, 68 Main St., Torrington.
