Broadway's Singular Sensation 'A Chorus Line' At Jorgensen

Summer has officially begun. How do you know? The first show of Connecticut Repertory Theatre's Nutmeg Summer Series begins, and it's one that's in our Broadway-loving bones: "A Chorus Line."

Any stars in the production? Well that would go against the nature of the show, which celebrates those in the chorus (now more frequently referred to as "the ensemble"). But the performers in this production — which plays the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre on the UConn campus in Storrs Thursday, June 5 to 14 — have plenty of solid credits: Lori Ann Ferreri plays Cassie, and she's performed in tours of "Footloose," "West Side Story," "Wicked" and "Aida," not to mention some fancy footwork on the Goodspeed stage. She also danced alongside Colin Farrell in the recent film "A Winter's Tale."

Also in the show, directed and choreographed by Cassie Abate, is Nick Lawson as Zach. David Williams is music director.

Next shows up in the series are the Neil Simon comedy "The Sunshine Boys" with Jerry Adler (TV's "The Good Wife," "The Sopranos") and Richard Kline (TV's "Three's Company"), running June 19 to 29; and the musical "Gypsy" starring Tony and Emmy Award-winner Leslie Uggams running July 10 to 20.

Tickets for "A Chorus Line" start at $34. Information: www.crt.uconn.edu.
