ALLENTOWN HOLIDAY CARDS
The Holiday Print and Greeting Card competition sponsored by the Allentown Arts Commission offers three cards this year. OVerall winner is Andrew Kishell of Allentown, a recent graduate of Kutztown University, with his painting "Late December at Bogert's Bridge (Lehigh Parkway)". Kish's work is available on cards along with "Christmastime at the Farmer's Market" by retired teacher Edith Roeder of Allentown and "Starry Nights, City Lights" by Stephanie Faleski of Coopersburg, a former PPL graphics artist who depicted the PPL building on a winter evening. Cards come in packs of 15, with 5 cards of each scene, for $12. Kish's work is also available in a limited edition of 150 unframed prints for $55 apiece. 'A BEACON IN THE NIGHT'
St. Paul's Lutheran (Blue) Church, Coopersburg, provides "A Beacon in the Night" in this print from an original painting by Cooperburg artist Stephanie Faleski. Printings are 14-by-11 inches ($20) or 20-by-16 inches matted ($28) and available at 610-282-4787.

'A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE'
In "A Christmas Miracle," a print by Jeff Moyer of Neffs, the marquee of Allentown's Colonial Theater announces a showing of the movie "Miracle on 34th Street." Moyer has been painting with the Parkland Art League for seven years. The 11-by-14-inch prints are $45 plus $5 postage and insurance. 'A HAMILTON STREET CHRISTMAS'
Still nostalgic for the old days? The limited-edition print "A Hamilton Street Christmas" by self-taught Palmerton folk artist Jane Lach evokes the corner of Ninth and Hamilton streets in Allentown as so many Lehigh Valley residents remember it at holiday time. 'ALLEN TOWNSHIP MEMORIES'
Local history buffs will be richly rewarded by the 100 pages of old photos and stories about the Allen Township area of Northampton County showcased in "Allen Township Memories." Bethlehem artist Rose Mavis has created a series of postcards with designs related to her Christmas City home town: a Moravian star, a ribbon spelling out Bethlehem and the belfry of Central Moravian Church. Watercolor portraits of children are the specialty of Kim Hogan of Easton. A graduate of New York's School of Visual Arts, she has received numerous awards, including a grand prize for a glass mosaic in Northampton County's 250th anniversary art contest. 'CHRISTMAS ON MAIN STREET'
"Christmas on Main Street" in Coopersburg is the subject of this print by Kimberly Ehring of Coopersburg. Locals will recognize Fluck's Hardware Store and Carpenter's Alley. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the $25 unframed print benefits the Southern Lehigh Public Library's building campaign. A child-like montage of Emmaus landmarks -- the Christmas tree on the Triangle, the Shelter House, the lampposts draped with American flags and the borough's 19th-century Main Street buildings -- is the winning design in the 2003 Winter in Emmaus holiday card contest. The card was created by Emmaus resident and grandmother of two, Vanessa Cattano. The card contest was the first fund-raiser of its kind for programs of the Emmaus Heritage Alliance, a coalition of borough institutions. Ten cards cost $12. HESS'S PATIO PRINT
'Dining in the Patio' captures the 1950s feeling of dining downtown at Hess's in Allentown. Signed and numbered by Karoline Schaub-Peeler, who has been painting Allentown nostalgia for 14 years, it's $12 plus tax for a matted 8-by-10-inch print and $50 plus tax for 121/2-by-181/2-inch unframed print. "Winter afternoon at Illick's Mill, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania" notecards feature a photograph of a watercolor painting by artist Kathy Fehr. Notecards by Beth K. Duckworth feature scenes from the Lehigh Valley, including this view of downtown Easton in subtle blues, greens and browns. The Palmer artist and Moravian College graduate works in watercolor, ink, and oil, and also produces originals and prints. "Moravian Morning," a signed and numbered limited-edition print by watercolor artist Nancy J. Plass of Williams Township, depicts Historic Bethlehem's Old Moravian Chapel and the Gemein Haus. "Snowy Night" cards offered in color by Historic Bethlehem Partnership feature a seasonal scene painted by Allentown artist and architect Richard Greenleaf. SILK-SCREENED SANTA CARDS
Silk-screened greeting cards hand-made by Debi Short of Allentown are sold in sets of three for $6. Inside is a simple "Greetings of the Season." An original member of Artisan Touch, Short lost the use of her right arm in a car accident, and retrained herself to silk-screen with her left. Last year, she created an ornament for the White House Christmas tree. She also makes prints and earrings.
'THE GENERAL'S LEGACY'
Allentown oil painter Edith M. Roeder, a retired English teacher in the Northern Lehigh School District, has created these notecards honoring the contributions of the late Gen. Harry Trexler as an Allentown parks philanthropist. Roeder, 83, dedicated her original painting, "The General's Legacy," to the sesquicentennial of the general's birth next year. She pictures a montage of park scenes superimposed on an image of the statute of Trexler on his horse overlooking Allentown's Trexler Park. The graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, specializes in nature and landscape photography.
