Jack Davis is an 83-year-old decorated Army veteran of World War II. During the Battle of the Bulge, he crawled through the snow on Christmas Eve 1944 to give morphine to a badly wounded German soldier who lay screaming in the night. Davis, a student of World War II, looks over his notes. Some of his many books about the war are on the coffee table in the foreground.
