Natural Ingredients features Roberta Friedman (that's her "Gazing Skyward IV," pictured) and Jennifer Davies, artists with disparate but complimentary work. Friedman combines fragments of watercolors with organic and man-made media, yielding textured collages. Wood, seaweed, metals, and even ground stone figure into her work. Davies, a member of New Haven's city gallery, works from life and creates abstraction. She combines media from paint and collage to handmade paper, though she is known for her monotype work. Together, the artists reflect a vision and method that stresses depth, rhythm, and vibrant shades.
through Dec. 12, opening reception Nov. 12, 6:45-8:45 p.m., Richmond Art Center, Loomis Chaffee School, 4 Batchelder Road, Windsor.
