Atlantic writer and senior editor Ta-Nehisi Coates (pictured) took down Brad Paisley earlier this year, when he felt the country star wasn't responding appropriately to criticism of his song "Accidental Racist" (featuring L.L. Cool J). When it comes to race and social justice, Coates, who won a National Magazine Award for his essay "Fear Of A Black President" and who previously authored The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood, tells it like he sees it. He'll read excerpts from his upcoming book at Wesleyan's Russell House on Thursday evening.
