Ceschi Ramos

We'd love to talk to Ceschi Ramos (pronounced Chess-key) about his music and his underground hip-hop/indie pop-and-more label Fake Four, which is currently thriving, but he's in a bit of a legal jam. By which we mean he's in prison — under questionable, marijuana-related circumstances. Ramos' cousin Opus (from Dead by Wednesday) explains: "We love him so much. It sucks. He got a bad rap. There's nothing he can do about it and now he's paying the price and he's trying to make the best of it. Unfortunately it really affects the label because the label's been blowing up… it's been doing super awesome, better than most labels that are out right now. What they're accusing him of, and what the reality is, are completely two separate things. I know for a fact that he's not guilty of what they're accusing him of. He's serving a little time and when he gets out I'm sure he's going to do just as good if not better than what he was doing before he went in." Ceschi has toured all over the world with independent hip-hop heroes like Myka 9, Awol One, Sole and Onry Ozzborn. To support Ramos and Fake Four, watch the video he made explaining his unfortunate predicament to his fans and supporters, and find out where to donate to keep Fake Four afloat in his absence, at indiegogo.com/projects/free-ceschi-help-fake-four. —Mike Sembos
