Joe Furey has been delivering weather forecasts to residents of Southern New England on both radio and TV for the last 27 years. He is currently Chief Meteorologist for FOX CT TV from 4:30 to 10a.m., and CBS Radio Hartford which includes WTIC News Talk 1080, 96.5 TICFM, Lite 100.5 WRCH, 93.7 WZMX and 97.3 WZBG.
After graduating Villanova University in 1983, Joe spent more than four years at Western Connecticut State University as a graduate student and then assistant director of the weather center under the direction of Dr. Mel Goldstein.
He taught weather at Western Connecticut State University, the University of Hartford and Talcott Mountain Science Center in Avon in the 1980's while doing TV weather for News 12 Connecticut.
Became Director of the New England Weather Service in the early 1990's doing weather forecasts for major corporations like Northeast Utilities while doing the FOX CT News at 10pm.
Joe is married with 4 daughters.
