Jeevan Vittal is a General Assignment Reporter for FOX CT. His reports can be seen on the FOX CT News at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Jeevan joined the FOX CT news team in January 2011. One of his most memorable stories was in June 2011 when he was one of the first Connecticut news crews on the scene of three devastating tornadoes that touched down in one night just up the road in Springfield, MA. Jeevan also covered Hurricane Irene as it bore down on the East Coast and ended up leaving hundreds of thousands of Connecticut residents without power for days.
Jeevan is a native of Washington, DC and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He got his start in television at the University of Hartford, where he was involved with the student TV station, STN Channel 2. Prior to returning to Connecticut, he was an Anchor/Reporter/Producer at WENY-TV in Elmira, NY.
In his free time, Jeevan enjoys reading, movies, video games, discovering new people and places, and, of course, cheering for his Carolina Tar Heels.
Jeevan is the recipient of several first place and national awards from the Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists, and Collegiate Broadcasters.
