Dom Amore was named Connecticut Sportswriter of the Year in 2011 and 2012 by the National Association of Sportscasters and Sportswriters. He has been covering sports for the Courant for 25 years, and his work has been cited 11 times by the Associated Press Sports Editors.
Amore teaches sportswriting as adjunct professor of journalism at Southern Connecticut State University.
For the Courant, he has covered the Giants and NFL from 1992-99, the Yankees and major league baseball from 1999-2011. He has been a baseball Hall of Fame voter since 2007. He has covered eight Super Bowls and 10 World Series for The Courant.
Amore has been the UConn men’s basketball beat writer since the summer of 2011.
