POSITION: Accountant

REPORTS TO: Controller
ROLE: This position is responsible for assisting in the general accounting functions relating to the WTIC-TV/WCCT-TV business unit as well as assigned regional duties. Areas of responsibilities include daily log reconciliation, general ledger, A/P, month-end close, and assistance in budgeting process.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconciliation of daily program logs for Hartford stations
- Back-up for reconciliation of daily program logs for regional business units
- Coordinate and monitor approval/routing of invoices through OnBase to ensure payments processed in timely manner
- Respond to A/P inquiries from vendors
- Prepare & input journal entries for the monthly closing
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, as assigned
- Assist in preparation of various monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Comply with requests for information from Corporate
- Assist in annual Plan process
- Position requires performance of other job related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Detail oriented
- BS in Accounting/Finance
- 2+ years experience in general accounting
- PC literate with proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft products
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft financial software helpful but not required
